Job Description

In this job, you will help schedule doctors and other healthcare providers to make sure they are available when patients need them. You will work with over 40 providers, making sure they have the right schedule for the work that needs to be done.

Key Responsibilities of the Provider Scheduler

As a Provider Scheduler, your job will include several important tasks that will help keep the clinics running smoothly:

1. Create and Manage Provider Schedules
   You will be in charge of making sure that 40+ providers have schedules that work for the clinics. Your job is to make sure there are enough providers available to help patients when they need it. You will need to create schedules that work well for the providers and also make sure all clinics have enough help.
2. Check the Effectiveness of Schedules
   You will need to look at how the current schedules are working. If you find problems, you will need to make changes to improve things. You will also look for different ways to schedule the providers to make sure everything runs smoothly.
3. Create Friendly Schedules for Employees
   You will use feedback from providers to come up with schedules that make sense and are fair to the employees. You will try to make the schedules better so that providers are happy and stay at the job longer.
4. Manage Short-Term Scheduling Tasks
   You will also help set up schedules for things like team meetings, training, and one-on-one meetings between leaders and providers. You will also look at time-off requests and decide if you need to get someone else to cover a shift.
5. Communicate Clearly
   You will need to tell everyone about the daily schedules. This means you will need to explain complex information in a way that everyone can understand, no matter their job.
6. Follow Best Practices
   You will help make sure that everyone follows the best ways to schedule providers. By doing this, you will help make the clinics work better and more efficiently.
7. Ensure Adequate Coverage
   You will be responsible for making sure that there are enough providers available for all the clinics. This may include making quick decisions if something changes and more help is needed.
8. Work with Other Departments
   You may also work with other departments in the company to help schedule activities for the clinic, like trainings and meetings.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

• You need a Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, business, or something related. If you don’t have a degree, you must have enough experience to show you can do the job.
• You also need at least 3 years of experience scheduling in a healthcare setting like a clinic or hospital.

Preferred Qualifications:

• If you have more education or experience related to healthcare scheduling, that’s a plus!
