The Health & Human Services Agency (HHSA) in San Diego County is looking for a Wellness Program Facilitator. This job is all about helping people in the community become healthier. You’ll work with different groups, help lead fun programs, and share advice on things like eating better, staying active, and taking care of your mind.

What Does the Job Involve?
As a Wellness Program Facilitator, you will:
- Plan and Lead Programs: You’ll create and run wellness programs for different groups. These programs teach people how to live a healthier life. You might talk about healthy eating, exercising, or managing stress.
- Teach Groups: You’ll lead fun group sessions where you talk to people about being healthy. You’ll explain things in an easy way so everyone understands.
- Help People One-on-One: Some people might need extra help. You’ll talk with them individually to give advice and help them make healthier choices.
- Work with Other Groups: You’ll team up with schools, local businesses, and other community groups to make sure people know about the wellness programs. You’ll also work with doctors, nurses, and other health experts.
- Track Progress: You will keep track of how well the programs are working and help improve them over time. You’ll also check in with people to see how they’re doing with their health goals.
- Create Helpful Materials: You’ll make simple guides and handouts to help people learn more about living a healthy life.
What Skills and Experience Do You Need?
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is Friendly and Good at Talking to People: You should be good at talking to people, listening to them, and helping them feel comfortable.
- Likes to Teach: You should enjoy teaching people about health, fitness, and wellness in a fun and easy-to-understand way.
- Is Organized: You need to be able to plan different wellness programs and keep everything on track.
- Cares About Helping Others: It’s important that you care about helping people feel better and live healthier lives. You should be patient and kind.
- Knows Some Basics About Health: It’s helpful if you know a little about nutrition, exercise, and mental health. If you don’t know everything, don’t worry — we’ll train you!
- Works Well with Others: You’ll need to work with other people, like other health professionals and community members. Being a good team player is important!
What’s Good to Have (But Not Required)?
- Experience with Health or Wellness Programs: If you’ve ever helped with a health program or worked in a wellness-related job, that’s a plus!
- Bilingual Skills: If you can speak more than one language, like Spanish, it’s a great help to reach more people in the community.
- Certifications in Health: If you have a certificate in health, wellness, or fitness, that’s great, but not necessary.
What Education Do You Need?
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- College Degree in a health-related subject like Nutrition, Public Health, or Social Work is helpful but not required.
Location
This job is in the County of San Diego, CA. You will work in different places in the county, such as community centers, schools, and maybe even online. Some traveling within San Diego County might be required, so you should be comfortable getting around.
