Job Description: Dietary Aide
As a Dietary Aide at Prairie View Healthcare Center, you will help prepare and serve food to the residents. You will work in the kitchen and dining areas, making sure meals are ready on time and served at the right temperature. You will also help with cleaning the kitchen and washing dishes. Your role is very important because you help make sure that the residents get healthy and delicious meals every day.

Key Responsibilities of a Dietary Aide
Here are the main things you will do as a Dietary Aide:
- Read production orders: You will read tray cards that tell you what food goes on each tray.
- Prepare trays: You will put items like forks, spoons, napkins, straws, and condiments on the trays.
- Help prepare food: You will do basic food preparation, like cutting vegetables or getting ingredients ready for the kitchen staff.
- Serve meals: You will serve food on trays, making sure it looks good, is at the right temperature, and is served on time.
- Push carts: You will push food carts to different areas of the building to deliver meals to the residents.
- Wash dishes: You will wash the dishes after the meals and keep the kitchen clean.
- Clean the kitchen and dining areas: You will help keep the kitchen and dining rooms clean and organized.
Skills and Qualifications
To be a Dietary Aide, here’s what we need from you:
- Food Handler’s Permit: You need a permit that shows you know how to handle food safely.
- Knowledge of food safety: You should understand the importance of keeping food safe and clean.
- Good communication skills: You need to be able to talk and work well with others on your team.
