Job Description
The Arbor Behavioral Health is a treatment center in Georgetown, TX, that helps people who struggle with substance abuse. We are looking for a caring and skilled LVN/LPN to join our team. This person will help provide care for patients and support them through their recovery. We believe in treating the whole person, including their medical and emotional needs. - Position: Full-Time LVN/LPN
- Location: 1443 County Road 103, Georgetown, TX 78626
- Salary: $26.50 – $31.25 per hour (based on experience and license)
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Work Setting: Rehabilitation center focused on addiction medicine
- Shift Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday, with on-call duties and weekends
- Required License: LVN/LPN License in Texas
- Driver’s License: Required
Key Responsibilities
As an LVN/LPN at The Arbor, your job will include many important tasks to help our clients recover. Here are the main things you will do:
- Health Assessments: You will check the client’s health and make sure their medical information is added to their file.
- Care for Clients: You will help identify the medical, emotional, and social needs of clients during their treatment and update the team if something changes.
- Medical and Psychological Checks: You will look for medical or emotional problems in clients and tell the doctor or counselor about important findings.
- Record Keeping: You will keep clear records of any changes in the client’s condition, health, or behavior.
- Family Communication: If a client’s condition changes, you will inform their family or other people responsible for them.
- Client Requests: You will help clients with non-emergency medical requests and listen to their concerns.
- Urine Testing: You will give random urine tests to clients and staff, and keep records of the results.
- Medical Orders: You will follow instructions from the doctor and make sure they are written down properly.
- Team Support: You will help the Medical Director by adding medical notes to records and teaching clients about their care.
- Self-Medication Program: You will make sure clients take their medication correctly and help teach staff about this process.
- Medical Appointments: You will help arrange medical appointments for clients outside the treatment center.
- Health Education: You will teach clients and staff about health topics like STDs, HIV, Smoking Cessation, and how to use Narcan.
- Inventory: You will help keep track of medical supplies.
- Incident Reports: You will write reports for any accidents or issues that happen with clients or staff.
- Ongoing Training: You will attend training and meetings to improve your skills and learn about new practices in addiction medicine.
Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you need to have the following skills and qualifications:
- A valid LVN/LPN license in Texas.
- Some experience working as a nurse, especially in a treatment center, is helpful.
- The ability to use electronic medical records.
- Good skills in giving medications to clients safely.
- Good communication skills to talk with clients and work well with the team.
- The ability to care for both male and female clients who are working through addiction recovery.
- You should be detail-oriented and able to keep accurate health records.
