Job Summary
As a Site Supervisor for the WIC program at Cypress Station, you will be in charge of the daily work at the site. Your job is to make sure everything runs smoothly and that families get the help they need. You will lead a team of dedicated workers, help them do their best, and follow the rules that keep our program running well. You will also work with other groups to improve the services we offer.
Responsibilities
As a Site Supervisor, you will have many important tasks, including:
- Leading the Team: You will manage a team of nutritionists, counselors, and office workers. You will help them do their jobs well and provide great service to our clients.
- Running the Program: You will make sure that all WIC services are offered according to the rules. You will check on our program to see if we are doing a good job.
- Helping Clients: You will assist families in getting WIC services like nutrition education and breastfeeding support. It is important to create a friendly and welcoming space for everyone.
- Keeping Records: You will keep track of client information and program activities. This helps us make sure we are helping everyone who needs it.
- Working with the Community: You will talk to other organizations to work together and improve the health of our community.
- Improving Services: You will help find ways to make our program better. We want our clients to be happy with the services we provide.
- Outreach: You will tell more people about the WIC program to help families know what services are available to them.
Qualifications
To do this job well, you should have the following skills:
Required Skills
- Leadership Skills: You should be able to lead and motivate a team of people.
- Good Communication: You need to talk and write clearly to help clients, staff, and partners understand each other.
- Organization: You should be good at organizing your work and managing many tasks at once.
- Problem-Solving: You need to find ways to solve challenges and make our program better.
Preferred Skills
- Cultural Awareness: You should understand and respect the different backgrounds of our clients.
- WIC Program Knowledge: It would be helpful if you know about WIC programs and their rules.
- Computer Skills: You should be comfortable using computers to keep track of information.
Education and Experience
- Education: We prefer you to have a bachelor’s degree in public health, nutrition, social work, or a related field.
- Experience: You should have at least two years of experience in a leadership role in a health or social service job. Working with low-income families is a big plus!
Location
This job is located in Harris County, Houston, Texas, at our Cypress Station site. It is easy to reach for both staff and clients.
