Job Summary
As the Community Resilience Manager, your main job will be to help our community get ready for challenges and to recover from them. This could mean anything from a public health issue to a natural disaster. You will work with community members and local groups to create plans and programs that will help everyone stay strong and connected.
Responsibilities
In this job, you will have many important tasks, such as:
Community Engagement
- Build Relationships: You will meet and connect with community members and local organizations. This helps build trust and teamwork.
- Organize Events: You will plan events, workshops, and meetings to talk to people about their needs and how we can help.
Program Development
- Create Programs: You will design programs that help the community based on what people need.
- Check Success: You will look at how well the programs are working and make changes if needed to improve them.
Crisis Management
- Prepare for Emergencies: You will work with local agencies to make plans for emergencies so everyone knows what to do.
- Help During Crises: When there is an emergency, you will help coordinate efforts to support the community and make sure people have what they need.
Advocacy and Education
- Raise Awareness: You will share information about public health issues and teach people how to stay healthy.
- Advocate for Change: You will work with local leaders to push for changes that help everyone in the community.
Qualifications
To be successful in this job, you will need:
Required Skills
- Good Communication: You should be able to talk and write clearly so everyone can understand you.
- Leadership: You need to be able to lead a team and inspire others to work together.
- Problem-Solving: You should be able to think about problems and come up with good solutions.
- Organization: You must manage several tasks at once and pay attention to details.
Preferred Skills
- Community Knowledge: It helps to know about Harris County and the challenges it faces.
- Tech Skills: You should be comfortable using computers for projects and communication.
- Networking: It’s good to know how to build connections with other groups and people.
Education and Experience
- Education: You need a bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, community development, or a similar field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: We prefer you to have at least three years of experience working in community programs, public health, or related fields. If you have experience in emergencies or disaster response, that’s a bonus!
Location
This job is located in Harris County, Houston, Texas. We are based in a convenient office to make it easy for everyone to connect with us.
Salary and Benefits
