Job Introduction
Public Health Services wants to help make our community healthy and safe! We provide important health services, information, and support to people in Harris County. We are looking for an Immunization Medical Assistant – Client Service Specialist, Mobile to join our team! This role is part of our mobile health team, which means you will help us take health services to different places in the county. You will be helping people stay healthy by giving vaccines, talking with them about health, and making sure everyone feels comfortable and cared for. Job Summary
As an Immunization Medical Assistant – Client Service Specialist, Mobile, you will be part of a team that travels around Harris County, giving people vaccines. This helps protect our community from diseases. You will talk to clients, help them understand the importance of getting vaccinated, and answer any questions they might have. You will also help with setting up the mobile unit and keeping records. This job is important because it helps keep our community safe and healthy!
Responsibilities
As part of this job, you will be doing things like:
Helping Clients
- Greet clients with a warm smile and friendly words.
- Help clients fill out forms and make sure all the information is correct.
- Explain why vaccines are important and answer questions from clients in a way they can understand.
Giving Immunizations
- Give vaccines to clients carefully and safely.
- Keep records of the vaccines given to each person.
- Make sure all supplies, like needles and bandages, are ready and safe to use.
Working in the Mobile Unit
- Help set up the mobile unit at each location.
- Make sure the mobile unit has everything needed for the day.
- Travel around Harris County with the team to provide services to different places.
Teaching About Health
- Share basic health tips and explain why it’s good to keep up with vaccines.
- Help clients understand their vaccine records.
Qualifications
To do well in this job, you should:
Required Skills
- Know a little about vaccines and why they are important.
- Enjoy talking with people and making them feel comfortable.
- Be careful and pay attention to details.
- Know how to use a computer for typing and saving information.
Preferred Skills
- It’s a plus if you can speak Spanish.
- Experience working in a community health setting is helpful.
- Be able to work well while traveling in the mobile unit.
Education and Experience
- Education: A high school diploma or GED is required. It’s good if you’ve gone through a medical assistant program, but it’s not necessary.
- Experience: We prefer if you have worked at least 1 year in a health or customer service job. If you have given vaccines before, that’s a plus, but we will train you if you haven’t.
