Key Responsibilities:
As a Radiology Tech Assist, your main tasks will include:
- Helping Patients:
- Prepare patients for their exams, making sure they feel comfortable.
- Help patients move on and off the tables and from room to room.
- Always be kind and sensitive to the patients’ needs.
- Helping with Patient Care:
- Help make sure patients get the right care during their visit.
- Work with the medical team to make sure everything runs smoothly.
- Checking Equipment:
- Regularly check the equipment used to move patients.
- Let the team know if any equipment needs to be repaired.
- Assisting with Medical Tasks:
- Once trained, you might be able to do IV insertions (putting in a needle for fluids).
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this job, you need:
- Education: A high school diploma or GED.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
- Skills: You should have good customer service skills. It’s important to be friendly and helpful to patients.
Preferred Qualifications:
These qualifications are not required, but they will help your application:
- Experience: If you’ve worked in patient care or customer service, that’s a plus.
- Certification: If you have an IV certification (meaning you can give patients IVs), that’s also helpful.
Physical Requirements:
This job requires the ability to do the following:
- Hearing and Listening: You need to listen and hear well to communicate with patients and staff.
- Lifting: You should be able to lift light items and help patients move.
- Manual Dexterity: You will need to use your hands for tasks like handling equipment.
- Seeing: You should have good vision for working with patients and equipment.
- Standing: You will be on your feet for long periods.
