About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with people who need help doing everyday activities due to illness, injury, or disability. Your clients may include children learning new skills, adults recovering from surgery, or seniors who want to stay active. You will create customized plans, lead therapy sessions, and teach useful techniques to help clients live fuller, more independent lives.

Key Responsibilities

Help Clients Improve Daily Functioning

• Assess how clients perform tasks like dressing, eating, or walking
• Create personalized therapy plans based on individual needs and goals
• Use creative, fun exercises to help clients regain strength and coordination

Support Families and Caregivers

• Teach family members how to help their loved one at home
• Recommend tools or equipment like walkers or adaptive utensils
• Encourage clients and families through challenges

Collaborate with Healthcare Teams

• Work with doctors, nurses, and other specialists to ensure complete care
• Track client progress and adjust therapy plans as needed
• Document care plans and write reports for healthcare and insurance

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• A valid California license to practice Occupational Therapy
• Strong communication skills to work with clients, families, and healthcare teams
• Patience and compassion for clients facing challenges
• The ability to create effective, personalized treatment plans

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children, adults, and older adults
• Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive tools
• Up-to-date knowledge of therapy techniques and rehabilitation methods
• Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are a plus, but not required
