Job Title: Nutrition and Wellness Advisor

Job Summary
The Nutrition and Wellness Advisor helps people in San Diego County learn how to eat better, stay active, and live a healthier lifestyle. You will give advice on nutrition (what to eat), fitness, and wellness (how to stay healthy). You will also create fun programs that help people eat healthier and exercise more. This is a great chance for someone who loves helping others and wants to make a real difference in their community.
Responsibilities
As a Nutrition and Wellness Advisor, here are some of the things you will do:
- Teach Nutrition: You will help people learn about healthy foods, good eating habits, and why they are important for health.
- Create Healthy Programs: You will plan fun programs to help people stay active, eat healthy, and take care of their bodies.
- Give Personal Advice: If someone needs help with their eating habits, you will give them advice that fits their needs.
- Work with Other Experts: You will talk with doctors, nurses, and other health experts to make sure people get the best advice.
- Teach the Community: You will participate in health events and teach groups of people about healthy eating and living.
- Track Progress: You will check how people are doing with their health goals and offer support to keep them on track.
- Stay Up-to-Date: You will learn about new health trends and information to make sure you are always giving the best advice.
Qualifications

Required Skills:
- Good at Talking to People: You should be able to explain things clearly and in a way that everyone can understand.
- Know About Nutrition: You need to understand what makes a healthy diet and how it helps the body.
- Kind and Caring: You should be friendly, patient, and understanding when helping people make changes to their health.
- Organized: You will be planning programs and keeping track of people’s progress, so being organized is important.
- Respectful of Differences: San Diego is a diverse place, so you should be comfortable working with people from all backgrounds.
- Good at Speaking in Front of Groups: You will sometimes speak to groups, so you should be confident when talking to many people.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience Helping People Change Habits: If you have experience helping people make healthy changes in their lives, that’s a plus.
- Bilingual: If you speak more than one language (like Spanish), that’s a big bonus because you will work with people from different backgrounds.
- Experience Working with the Community: If you have helped organize health programs or events, that’s great!
- Familiar with Local Resources: Knowing what health resources are available in San Diego will help you guide people to the right places.
- Tech Skills: Being comfortable with computers or using social media is a plus for sharing health information.
Education and Experience
Here’s what you need to get this job:
- Education: You need a college degree in Nutrition, Health, or a related subject.
- Experience: It’s helpful if you’ve worked in a health-related job before, but it’s not required.
- Certifications: If you have any certifications like a Registered Dietitian (RDN), that’s a plus but not required.
- Background Check: You will need to pass a background check to make sure you’re a good fit for the job.

Salary and Benefits
We offer a great salary and benefits to our employees. Here’s what you can expect:
- Salary: You will earn between $50,000 and $70,000 each year, depending on how much experience you have.
