Job Summary
As a Mid-Level Provider NP/PA, you will help provide healthcare to refugees in Harris County, Houston, Texas. You will work with a team of doctors and nurses to check on patients, figure out what is wrong, and help them feel better. Your work will make a big difference in the lives of many people.
Responsibilities
In this job, you will:
- Take Care of Patients: Listen to patients about their health and do check-ups to find out how they are doing.
- Diagnose and Treat: Understand what is wrong with patients and create plans to help them feel better.
- Teach Patients: Explain to patients how to stay healthy and what they can do to improve their health.
- Work as a Team: Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other health workers to provide the best care.
- Keep Records: Write down important information about patients and their treatments.
- Engage with the Community: Join community events to help promote health and provide information to refugees.
Qualifications
To get this job, you should have:
Required Skills
- Medical Skills: You should know how to check patients and provide treatments.
- Good Communication: You need to speak and write clearly so you can talk to patients and other team members.
- Caring Attitude: You should be kind and understand what refugees are going through.
- Problem-Solving: You need to be able to think of solutions quickly when issues arise.
- Cultural Awareness: It’s important to understand the different backgrounds of refugees.
Preferred Skills
- Language Skills: If you know other languages, it can help you communicate better with some patients.
- Community Experience: It’s helpful if you have worked with people from different backgrounds before.
- Team Player: You should be able to work well with others and build good relationships.
Education and Experience
- Education: You need a Master’s degree in Nursing or a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
- Licensing: You must have a current NP or PA license in Texas.
- Experience: You should have at least two years of experience in a medical setting, especially in primary care or community health.
