Job Summary
As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) on our mobile team, your job will be to visit patients in their homes or other locations in Harris County, Houston, Texas. You will help them with their health needs and make sure they understand how to take care of themselves. You will work closely with other health professionals to provide the best care possible. This is a special opportunity to help people in your community every day!
Responsibilities
In your job as an LVN, you will have many important tasks, such as:
- Checking Patients: You will look at patients to see how they are feeling and what they need.
- Providing Care: You will help give patients their medicine and treat their wounds if they have any.
- Teaching Patients: You will explain to patients and their families how to take care of their health and what to do with their medications.
- Keeping Records: You will write down what you do for each patient to keep everything organized and up to date.
- Working with Others: You will team up with doctors, nurses, and other staff to make sure patients get complete care.
- Helping in Emergencies: You will be ready to help if something urgent happens and may need to get patients to the hospital.
- Community Events: You may participate in health fairs and other events to help educate people about staying healthy.
- Following Rules: You must follow the rules and guidelines of the healthcare system to ensure safe and quality care for everyone.
Qualifications
To be a successful LVN, you need some skills and qualifications:
Required Skills
- Good Communication: You should be able to talk and listen well to patients and their families.
- Kindness: Being caring and understanding is very important in this job.
- Attention to Detail: You need to pay close attention to details to provide the best care.
- Time Management: You should be able to manage your time well and complete tasks efficiently.
- Basic Computer Skills: Knowing how to use a computer to keep patient records is helpful.
Preferred Skills
- Bilingual Skills: If you speak Spanish or another language, it can help you connect with more patients.
- Experience in Health Care: If you have worked in a healthcare setting before, that’s great! But we also welcome new graduates to apply.
- Cultural Awareness: Understanding different cultures and their health beliefs is a plus.
Education and Experience
- Education: You need to have a valid LVN license in Texas.
- Experience: Previous experience as a nurse is nice, but if you are a new graduate, we encourage you to apply too!
Location
This job is located in Harris County, Houston, Texas. You will be traveling to different places to help patients, so your work will always be changing!
