As a Healthcare Outreach Specialist, your job will be to help people find important healthcare services. You will be reaching out to families, community groups, and individuals to make sure they know about the health programs and services that can help them.

Job Summary
In this job, you will help people in San Diego County get the healthcare services they need. This includes programs like health insurance, free health check-ups, vaccinations, mental health services, and more. You will work with many different people in the community and help them understand how to use these services.
This job is about helping people, solving problems, and making sure no one misses out on important healthcare. You will be a key part of helping the community stay healthy and strong.
Responsibilities
As a Healthcare Outreach Specialist, you will have many important tasks to do. Some of your main jobs will include:
- Talking to People in the Community
You will visit local events, schools, and organizations to share information about health programs. You will help people understand how these programs can help them stay healthy. - Helping People Understand Health Services
You will explain how people can sign up for health programs like health insurance or free health screenings. You will answer any questions they have and make sure they understand how to get the help they need. - Sharing Information About Healthy Living
You will help create and share health tips and information with the community. This could include making flyers, using social media, or talking at events to help people learn how to live healthier lives. - Helping People Sign Up for Health Programs
You will guide people through the process of signing up for health programs. This might include filling out forms or helping them understand what they need to do. - Checking In with People
After helping someone, you will follow up to make sure they got the help they needed. You will also answer any extra questions they may have. - Working with Other Organizations
You will work with other groups and health providers in the community to make sure everyone knows about the programs available to them. - Keeping Track of Your Work
You will keep track of how many people you help and report back to your team on how well your outreach efforts are working. - Learning New Things
You will attend meetings and training sessions to learn more about healthcare programs and how to best help people in your community.

You need to be able to explain things clearly and in a friendly way. Being able to speak Spanish or another language will also help you reach more people! - Kindness and Patience

Extra Skills That Are Helpful
- Speaking Spanish: Many people in San Diego speak Spanish, so being able to help them in their language is a big plus.
- Experience Helping People: If you’ve worked in a job where you helped people before, like in customer service or volunteering, it will be helpful.
- Knowing About Health Programs: If you already know about health services or programs in San Diego, it will make your job easier.
Education and Experience
Education:
You need to have at least a high school diploma or equivalent. If you have extra education in health, social work, or another related field, that’s even better.
Experience:
It’s helpful if you have some experience working in the community or helping people. If you’ve volunteered or worked in a job that helps others, it will help you in this position.
Location
This job is located in San Diego County, California. You will be visiting different places around the county to meet with people and help them. Sometimes, you might need to travel to community events or meet with other organizations.
Salary and Benefits
Salary:
The starting salary for this job is between $45,000 to $55,000 per year, depending on your experience.
