Job Summary
As a Health Program Analyst, your main job will be to look at health information and help create programs that help people. You will use data to find out what the community needs. Then, you will work with other groups to make sure our health programs are helpful and effective. This job gives you a chance to make a real difference in the lives of many people in San Diego County.
Responsibilities
In your job as a Health Program Analyst, you will have many important tasks, including:
- Data Analysis: You will collect and study health data to see how we can improve health services.
- Program Evaluation: You will check how well our health programs are working and suggest ways to make them better.
- Report Writing: You will write clear reports about your findings and share them with your team and others.
- Collaboration: You will work with different groups, including healthcare providers and community organizations, to create helpful health programs.
- Research: You will keep up with the latest public health information to help improve our programs.
- Community Engagement: You will join community meetings and activities to listen to what people need and tell them about our health programs.
Qualifications
Required Skills
To be a good Health Program Analyst, you should have these skills:
- Analytical Skills: You should be good at looking at data and figuring out what it means.
- Communication Skills: You need to write and speak clearly so others can understand your ideas.
- Problem-Solving Skills: You should be able to find problems and come up with solutions to fix them.
- Teamwork: You must be able to work well with others and be part of a team.
- Attention to Detail: You need to pay close attention to your work to ensure everything is correct.
Preferred Skills
It’s great if you also have these skills:
- Familiarity with Health Policies: Knowing about health rules and programs can be helpful.
- Technical Skills: It’s good if you know how to use computer programs to analyze data, like Excel.
- Project Management: Being able to manage your time and tasks well is a plus.
Education and Experience
To apply for this job, you need to meet these education and experience requirements:
- Education: You should have a bachelor’s degree in public health, health administration, or a similar field. A master’s degree is nice but not required.
- Experience: You should have at least two years of experience in health program analysis or a related area. If you have worked in government or nonprofit organizations before, that’s a plus!
