Job Summary
The Healthcare Program Analyst helps improve healthcare programs by looking at data and helping plan and organize new programs. You will also make sure healthcare programs are working well and doing what they’re supposed to do. You will work with different groups, like doctors, hospitals, and local leaders, to make sure our programs are meeting the needs of the people in San Diego County.
Responsibilities
As a Healthcare Program Analyst, here’s what you will do:
- Look at Healthcare Data: You will collect and study data to find out how well healthcare programs are working. You will help find areas where we can do better and improve the services we offer.
- Help Plan Programs: You’ll help plan new programs that help people get the healthcare they need. This might include planning new health services or improving existing ones.
- Write Reports: You will write reports that explain how programs are doing. You will use charts, graphs, and easy-to-understand language to share information with the team.
- Work with Others: You’ll work with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers to make sure programs are running smoothly.
- Make Sure Programs Follow Rules: Healthcare programs need to follow certain laws and rules. You’ll help make sure our programs are following these rules and are working correctly.
- Help Improve Programs: You will suggest ways to make programs better. If something isn’t working, you’ll help find ways to fix it.
- Keep Track of Progress: You will help monitor programs and keep track of how well they are doing. You will let your team know when things are going well or when changes are needed.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
To be a Healthcare Program Analyst, you need to have certain skills:
- Great at Working with Data: You need to be good at looking at numbers and data to understand what’s going on with healthcare programs.
- Clear Communication: You need to explain things clearly, both in writing and when talking to people.
- Problem-Solving: You need to think of ways to make things better when there’s a problem.
- Detail-Oriented: You will look at a lot of data and need to make sure everything is correct.
- Organized: You will have to juggle many tasks at once, so being organized is very important.
- Teamwork: You will work with different groups, so being a team player is important.
- Computer Skills: You should be good at using computers, especially programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Healthcare Knowledge: It’s helpful to know about how healthcare programs work and what the rules are.
Preferred Skills:
It’s also helpful if you have:
- Project Management: If you have experience organizing and managing projects, it will help you in this job.
- Experience in Healthcare: If you’ve worked in healthcare before, that’s a big plus.
- Certifications: If you have any special certifications related to healthcare or data analysis, it will make you a stronger candidate.
Education and Experience
- Education: You need to have at least a high school diploma. A college degree in healthcare, public health, or something similar is preferred, but not required.
- Experience: We prefer that you have at least two years of experience working in healthcare or a similar field. This can be in any job where you worked with programs, data, or people.
Location
This job is based in San Diego County, California. You will work in an office, but sometimes you may need to travel to different places within the county for meetings or to visit healthcare programs.
Salary and Benefits
As a Healthcare Program Analyst, you will be paid a starting salary of about $60,000 per year. This can go higher depending on your experience. On top of the salary, we offer:
