Job Summary
As the Associate Director for ACCESS Harris, you will help lead programs that make it easier for people to get health care in Harris County. You will work with different groups, like community organizations and healthcare providers, to create a strong network of support for everyone in our community. Your job will be to find ways to help people overcome any challenges they face when trying to get medical care.
Responsibilities
In this job, you will have many important tasks, including:
Program Development and Implementation
You will create and run programs that help people access health care. Your work will focus on finding new and better ways to help meet the needs of our community.
Leadership and Management
You will lead a team of dedicated workers, giving them support and guidance to make sure our programs run well. You will encourage teamwork and help everyone grow in their jobs.
Data Analysis and Reporting
You will collect and look at information to see how well our programs are doing. You will prepare reports that share what you find, showing how our work helps the community.
Community Engagement
You will build strong relationships with community groups and residents to understand their needs. You will participate in activities to raise awareness about health services available to them.
Policy Advocacy
You will advocate for policies that improve access to health care. Working with local and state officials, you will help influence health-related laws and initiatives.
Budget Management
You will manage the budget for the programs you oversee. This means making sure money is spent wisely to help achieve our goals.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Required Skills
- Leadership Skills: You should be able to lead and inspire a team, creating a positive and friendly work environment.
- Communication Skills: You need to be a good speaker and writer, able to share important information clearly.
- Analytical Skills: You should be good at looking at data and using it to make decisions.
- Problem-Solving Skills: You need to think creatively to find solutions to challenges in the community.
- Interpersonal Skills: You should be friendly and able to work well with different people.
Preferred Skills
- Project Management: It would be great if you have experience managing projects from start to finish.
- Public Health Knowledge: Knowing about public health and the factors that affect people’s health is a plus.
- Advocacy Experience: Experience in working with government officials on health policies is helpful.
Education and Experience
For this job, you should have:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, or a related field is required. A master’s degree in public health or a similar area is preferred.
- Experience: At least five years of relevant experience in public health, community engagement, or program management. Experience in a leadership role is also preferred.
