Health Policy Analyst Full Time

Job Summary

As a Health Policy Analyst, you will help HHSA by studying health issues, making plans to solve them, and giving advice on how to improve health programs. You’ll look at facts, talk to people in the community, and come up with ideas to help everyone in San Diego live healthier lives. You’ll make sure the health policies we create work for everyone and help people get the care they need.

Job Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll do as a Health Policy Analyst:

1. Research and Study Health Needs

  • Look up information about health needs in the community.
  • Study reports and data about health issues.
  • Learn about current health laws and rules.

2. Make Plans for Better Health

  • Help create new health policies or improve existing ones.
  • Write simple reports about health issues and your ideas.
  • Share your findings and ideas with your team and leaders.

3. Check How Programs Are Working

  • See if the health programs we have are helping people.
  • Suggest ways to make these programs better.
  • Use feedback from the community to improve health services.

4. Work with the Community

  • Talk to local health groups and other organizations.
  • Share health information and raise awareness about health issues.
  • Explain policies clearly so everyone can understand them.

Qualifications

To be a Health Policy Analyst, you’ll need some skills to help you succeed.

Required Skills

  • Reading and Research Skills: Able to read reports and find important details.
  • Communication: Explain your ideas clearly in writing and speaking.
  • Attention to Detail: Look closely at data and information to avoid mistakes.
  • Problem-Solving: Find solutions to health issues using research.

Preferred Skills

  • Teamwork: Work well with others to get things done.
  • Basic Math: Comfortable with numbers and data.
  • Project Management: Able to organize tasks and manage your time.

Education and Experience

Location

This job is based in San Diego County, CA. You might need to work at the office sometimes, but there could be options to work from home part of the week.

Salary and Benefits

HHSA offers a good salary and benefits to support you in this job. The annual salary for this position is $65,000 – $85,000, depending on your experience and skills.
