Responsibilities

As a Medical Receptionist, your daily tasks will include:

1. Answering Calls and Helping Patients:

   • You will also help new patients schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments.
2. Insurance Verification:
   • You will check patients’ insurance information and collect payments (like copays and deductibles) before they see a doctor.
   • It is important to make sure that all patient information is correct and up to date in the system.
3. Customer Support:
   • You will help patients with any questions or problems they may have.
   • You will also act as a link between patients and other departments at Vita Health (like clinical operations and business development).
4. Keeping Records:
   • You will make sure that patient information is correctly entered into the system, including insurance details and contact information.
   • You will also document any conversations or interactions you have with patients.
5. Administrative Tasks:
   • You will help with other tasks related to patient intake, scheduling, and ensuring everything is running smoothly.

Qualifications and Skills

• Medical receptionist experience in a mental health setting.
• Experience working in customer service or a call center.
• Bilingual skills are a plus, meaning you can speak more than one language.
• Experience with insurance verification and understanding how it works is important.
• You should be familiar with using electronic medical records and working with phones.
• Google Office Suite experience (like Docs and Sheets) is helpful.
• If you have worked with AdvancedMD (a medical record system), that’s a plus.
• If you have a Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) or Professional Administrative Certificate of Excellence (PACE), it’s a bonus.
