Job Summary
As a Site Supervisor for the WIC program in Scarsdale, you will lead the daily work at our center, help our staff do their best, and make sure everything is running smoothly. You will work closely with families who need our services, helping them learn about nutrition and providing them with the support they need. What You’ll Do (Your Responsibilities)
In this job, you will have some important responsibilities to make sure our WIC center runs well. Here are the main things you’ll do:
Oversee Daily Activities
- Make sure everything runs smoothly each day.
- Help with appointment scheduling and ensure families get seen on time.
- Keep the center a friendly and welcoming place for everyone.
Lead and Support Staff
- Train and guide our team members so they can do their best.
- Make sure staff members are working well and feeling supported.
- Talk with team members regularly to help them with any problems they face.
Assist Families in Need
- Welcome families and make them feel comfortable.
- Answer questions about our services and guide them through the program.
- Share tips on healthy eating, breastfeeding, and other family needs.
Ensure Our Rules Are Followed
- Follow all rules from Public Health Services and the WIC program.
- Protect private information and follow guidelines for data safety.
- Regularly check that we’re offering the best service possible.
Help in the Community
- Represent Public Health Services in community meetings and events.
- Work with local groups to tell people about our services and reach more families.
Who We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
To do well in this job, you’ll need a mix of skills and qualities.
Must-Have Skills
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Communication Skills: Strong speaking and writing skills to talk to clients and team members clearly.
- Organizational Skills: Good at planning and keeping everything in order.
- Problem-Solving: Able to fix issues as they come up.
- Kind and Caring: Friendly and respectful toward families and people in need.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Language Skills: Knowing Spanish or another language is helpful but not required.
- Experience with WIC: Having worked with the WIC program before is a bonus.
- Basic Computer Skills: Knowing how to use programs like Microsoft Office.
Education and Experience
- Education: You need a high school diploma or GED. Extra certificates in health or similar areas are a plus.
- Experience: We’re looking for at least two years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in health services or customer service.
- Experience with WIC Program: Experience with WIC or similar programs is helpful but not required.
