Job Summary

The Emergency Response Tactical Medic will work with the Sheriff’s Department in San Diego County. As a Tactical Medic, you will provide medical help to people when there are emergencies. Key Responsibilities

If you become a Tactical Medic, here’s what you will do:

Main Duties

1. Give Medical Care in Emergencies: Help people who are hurt during dangerous situations. This includes helping police officers, accident victims, and others who need immediate medical help.
2. Assist in Crisis Situations: Be ready to help during big emergencies like fires, accidents, and disasters.
3. Keep Medical Supplies Ready: Make sure that all your medical tools and supplies are in good shape and ready to go at any time.
4. Work With Law Enforcement: Help the police by being there during dangerous operations and giving medical care if someone gets hurt.
5. Train Regularly: You will go through regular training to keep your skills sharp and to stay prepared for emergencies.

This job may require working at night, on weekends, and even during holidays since emergencies can happen anytime.

Qualifications

To be a good fit for this job, here’s what you need:

Required Qualifications

• Certification as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or Paramedic.
• At least 2 years of experience giving emergency medical care, such as working in an emergency room or on an ambulance.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Able to stay calm and think clearly, even in scary situations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with the military or police.
• Extra training in tactical medicine, like Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC).
• Knowledge of emergency protocols, meaning you know what to do and how to stay safe in emergencies.

• 2 to 4 years of experience as an EMT or Paramedic is necessary. Experience in a police or military setting is a plus.
• Certifications like BLS and ACLS are a must. If you have other certifications in tactical medicine, that’s also good.

Location: San Diego County

This job is based in San Diego County, which means you’ll work in different places within the county. You must be able to get to emergency locations quickly.
