Job Summary
As a Nurse Practitioner at HHSA, you will help people by diagnosing their health problems, giving them treatments, and helping them stay healthy. You will work with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to care for patients.
Your main job will be to take care of patients by seeing them in clinics, giving advice, and helping them with their health problems. You’ll make sure patients understand their treatments, take the right medications, and feel better over time.

Responsibilities
Here are some of the things you will do in this role:
- Talk to patients: You will meet with patients, listen to their concerns, and check their health.
- Help diagnose health problems: You’ll figure out what might be causing a patient’s symptoms and suggest treatments.
- Create care plans: You will make plans to help patients get better, which could include giving advice, prescribing medicine, or arranging for follow-up care.
- Give health advice: You will explain how patients can stay healthy and prevent future illnesses.
- Work with a team: You will work with doctors, nurses, and other medical staff to make sure patients get the best care possible.
- Keep records: You’ll write down important details about patient visits and treatments in the computer system.
- Help with emergencies: Sometimes you may need to handle urgent medical situations and provide immediate care.
Qualifications
Required Skills
To do this job well, you need to have the following skills:
- Medical Knowledge: You should know how to take care of people, diagnose illnesses, and suggest the right treatments.
- Communication: You should be able to talk to patients clearly and explain their health needs.
- Kindness: It’s important to be caring and understanding with patients. Showing empathy helps them feel comfortable.
- Problem Solving: You should be good at figuring out what’s wrong with a patient and how to help them feel better.
- Attention to Detail: You must pay close attention when writing down information or giving treatments to make sure everything is right.
- Teamwork: You need to work well with others, such as doctors and nurses, to make sure patients get the best care.
Preferred Skills
These skills are not required, but they are helpful:
- Experience with patients: If you’ve worked with patients before, especially in a clinic or hospital, that’s a plus.
- Speaking another language: If you can speak more than one language, it may help you communicate with more patients.
- Leadership: If you have experience leading or teaching others in a healthcare setting, that’s a bonus.
Education and Experience
Here’s what we need in terms of education and experience:
- Education: You must have a Master’s Degree in Nursing from a school that is accredited (approved). You should also be a Certified Nurse Practitioner in California.
- Licensing: You need to have a valid Nurse Practitioner License in California.
- Certification: You will need to have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
It’s also helpful if you have experience working in clinics or hospitals, but it’s not required.

Salary and Benefits
As a Nurse Practitioner at HHSA, you will receive:
- Salary: You will earn between $115,000 and $135,000 per year, depending on your experience.
