Mohawk Valley Health Systems is looking for a friendly and caring Medical Assistant to join our team. This full-time job lets you work with doctors, nurses, and patients in a busy medical office. Job Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant, your main job will be to help doctors, nurses, and patients. Here are some of the things you will do:
- Help with patient care: You will collect information about patients, like their health history, and report it to the doctor or nurse. You will also help prepare patients for their exams.
- Assist with medical procedures: You will help the doctor or nurse during exams or treatments. This could include handing them tools or helping make sure the patient is comfortable.
- Keep the office ready for patients: You will make sure the treatment rooms are clean and have everything needed for exams. You will also help keep track of medical supplies to make sure there is enough for everyone.
- Answer patient questions: Patients may ask you about their appointments or care. You will answer questions or let the office manager know if there is a bigger issue.
- Other tasks: You may also help with other office jobs like answering the phone, scheduling appointments, or getting medical records.
Education and Experience Requirements

- Education: A high school diploma or GED (equivalent) is required.
- Experience: You should have at least one year of experience helping patients directly. This could be from a job where you helped people with their health care needs.
- Skills:
- You need to be good at talking to people and making them feel comfortable.

- Basic computer skills are needed because you will work with patient records and appointments.
Licenses and Certifications
You will need the following certifications:
- Required: You must get BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) within 6 weeks after starting the job.
- Preferred: It’s good if you have a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification, but it’s not required.
