Job Summary
As a Grant Field Technician, you will work on important health projects that help people in Harris County. Your main job will be to promote health programs and make sure everything runs smoothly. You will meet with community members, collect information, and help keep track of how well our programs are doing. Your work will help make our community healthier and better for everyone.
Responsibilities
In this job, you will have many fun and important tasks, including:
- Talking to People: You will meet with community members to tell them about health programs. You may go to events, give out flyers, and host workshops.
- Collecting Information: You will gather information about how many people are using our programs and what their health needs are. This helps us understand how to improve our services.
- Working with Others: You will team up with local schools, organizations, and healthcare providers to make our health programs successful.
- Keeping Records: You will need to keep track of all the activities and spending related to our programs. This helps us follow the rules of our funding.
- Helping the Community: You will build relationships with community leaders and members to find out what they need and how we can help.
- Writing Reports: You will write reports to share what you did and how our programs are doing. This information is important for future improvements.
- Developing New Ideas: You will help create new health programs based on what you learn from the community.
Qualifications
To do well as a Grant Field Technician, you should have the following skills:
Required Skills
- Good Communication: You should be able to talk to different people clearly and nicely. This includes explaining things in a way that everyone can understand.
- Friendly and Social: You will need to make friends and build good relationships with people in the community. Being kind and approachable is very important.
- Organized: You should be able to keep track of many tasks and do them in the right order. This helps everything run smoothly.
- Problem Solver: When challenges come up, you should be able to think of solutions to keep our programs going.
Preferred Skills
- Computer Skills: Knowing how to use computers and programs like Microsoft Word and Excel is helpful.
- Speaking Different Languages: If you can speak another language, that is a big plus! It helps you talk to more people.
- Health Knowledge: If you have studied public health or have experience in this area, that is great, but it’s not required.
Education and Experience
- Education: You need to have a high school diploma or an equivalent certificate. If you have a degree in public health or a similar field, that is a bonus!
- Experience: If you have worked with the community or have experience in health programs before, that’s great! But if you are eager to learn and help, we encourage you to apply.
Location
This job is in Harris County, Houston, Texas. You will go to different places in the community, like schools, clinics, and events, so being willing to travel around the county is important.
